This Privacy Policy explains what personal data InjuryCompass (injuryycompass.com) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. InjuryCompass is an independent informational website about U.S. personal injury and accident claims. We are not a law firm and we do not sell legal services.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the owner of InjuryCompass, identified in our Legal Notice. For any privacy question or request, write to contact@injuryycompass.com.
2. What data we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message, only if you choose to write to us.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we store your name, email address, IP address and the comment itself to moderate it and prevent spam. Your email address is never published. Comments are reviewed before they appear on the site.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device and pages visited, recorded automatically by our hosting server for security and to keep the site working.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used by us and by third parties such as Google, as explained below and in our Cookie Policy.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, medical records, case documents or other sensitive information about an injury or legal matter, whether through the contact form or in comments.
3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis
- To answer your messages (legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in replying).
- To publish and moderate comments and prevent spam (legal basis: your consent when you submit a comment and our legitimate interest in keeping the site free of spam).
- To keep the website secure and working (legal basis: legitimate interest).
- To show advertising and measure how the site is used (legal basis: your consent where the law requires it, such as in the EEA, UK and Switzerland).
4. Advertising: Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which helps keep this website free. In connection with this:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent message (a Google-certified consent management platform) before advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy link shown on the site.
5. Analytics
We use Google Site Kit, which can connect Google services such as Search Console and Google Analytics to measure aggregated traffic (for example, which pages are read most). This information is used in aggregate to improve our guides and is not used to identify you.
6. Who we share data with
- Our hosting provider (Namecheap), which stores the website, comments and server logs.
- Google (AdSense, Analytics, Search Console), as described above.
Comment spam filtering runs on our own server; we do not send comments to external anti-spam services. We do not sell your personal data and we never share your messages or comments with law firms, insurers or other third parties. Some of the providers above may process data outside the EEA; when they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long we keep data
- Contact messages: up to 12 months after the conversation ends.
- Comments: for as long as they are published, unless you ask us to delete them. Comments that are not approved are deleted.
- Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider for security purposes.
- Cookies: for the duration described in our Cookie Policy.
8. Your rights
EEA and UK residents (GDPR): you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data (including your comments), restrict or object to its processing, request data portability and withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information. To limit the use of cookies for personalized advertising, use the Google and industry opt-out links in section 4.
To exercise any right, email contact@injuryycompass.com. We will reply within the period required by law.
9. Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
The website uses HTTPS encryption, and access to its administration area is restricted. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, so please do not send confidential information through the contact form or in comments.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
